Care Patrol
Care Patrol is a nationwide company that assists with locating assisted living, independent living, and nursing homes
for people in need.  Mary Ellen Gilbert is the point of contact for all of Florida. You, the client, or the family can
simply call Mary Ellen's cell 410-610-4054 and provide her with the offender's name, amount of monthly income, and requested
housing type. She will work to find a home for the client within their budget.

The facility pays Care Patrol for the referrals so the client does not pay for the service. Depending on the client's needs,
Care Patrol can provide several housing options.  Care Patrol recently found a facility that would accept one of my homeless
client with active psychiatric concerns.  Mary Ellen says they have options for sex offenders also.

Department of Elder Affairs (CARES)
Comprehensive Assessment and Review for Long-Term Care Services (CARES) is Florida’s federally mandated pre-admission screening program for nursing home applicants. A registered nurse and/or assessor performs client assessments. A physician or registered nurse reviews each application to determine the level of care that is most appropriate for the applicant. The assessment identifies long-term care needs, and establishes the appropriate level of care (medical eligibility for nursing facility care), and recommends the least restrictive, most appropriate placement.

Disability Achievement Center
Disability Achievement Center (formerly Caring & Sharing, CASCIL) is a disability resource Center serving all persons of all ages in Pasco and Pinellas Counties, Florida who have disabilities. DART - Demand Resposne Transportation
The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) provides demand response transportation services for people who, because of their disability, are unable to independently use the regular, accessible PSTA buses. Demand response service is a form of public transportation. Passengers will be required to share a ride whenever possible, as is done on the regular bus system. PSTA is not required to ensure that a passenger rides alone on a vehicle.

Community Voice Mail-CVM
CVM provides a set of phone numbers to particating agencies servicing low-income and homeless individuals. The agency would assign voice mail boxes to their participants. A case manager, counselor or staff member would provide participants with their own private phone number and security code. The agency case manager or staff member would assist the participant in recording a greeting, setting a Personal Identification Number (PIN) and providing them with a wallet card that contains simple instructions on how to use the C.V.M. system.

If it's their first time we ask they arrive 15 minutes early so that we can have them fill out the necessary volunteer paperwork.

If someone wants to pick up extra hours on Saturday, they can come to the pantry before Adopt-a-Block starts to help get the trucks loaded with food.

They can come to the pantry at 6:30am and would be there until 8:30 and then would head to the Adopt-a-Block site from there.
